Tracing its roots to a Taisho-era river fish shop near Sugamo's Togenuki Jizo, this eel restaurant opened its Meguro branch at the gate of Meguro Fudoson temple in 1960. For over 60 years it has grilled unagi kabayaki over Kishu binchotan charcoal with a secret sauce.
