Why visitYamauchi Shoten

Founded in 1949 by a first-generation owner who moved to Tokyo from Fukushima, this shop hand-makes konjac, shirataki noodles, and kanten jelly using the traditional 'bata-neri' method with flour from Shimonita, Gunma. The current third-generation owner, an avid surfer, has given the storefront a distinctive beach-culture atmosphere.
