Sekizenkan opened as an inn in 1694, and its main building of 1691 is said to be Japan's oldest surviving wooden bathhouse structure, designated an Important Cultural Property of Gunma Prefecture. Guests can soak in the waters of Shima Onsen amid an atmosphere preserved since the Edo period.
