Founded in 1915, Roushouki is known as the birthplace of the butaman, a pork bun its founder Cao Songqi adapted from Tianjin baozi to suit Japanese tastes. Freshly steamed buns made with the original koji starter dough are still served at the shop facing Nankinmachi Square.
