Minamisenju Sunaba traces its roots to the Kaei era (1848-1854), when it operated in Kojimachi under the historic Sunaba lineage of Edo soba makers. The twelfth-generation owner relocated the shop to Minamisenju in 1912, and the current wooden building dates to 1954.
