Founded in 1891 as a noren-wake branch of the Shimbashi shop Aoyagi Honten, this confectionery is known for its chrysanthemum-shaped "kiku-monaka," which was even sold as "victory monaka" during the Sino-Japanese and Russo-Japanese wars. It is also said to be the first shop to carry Morinaga sweets.
