Founded in 1805 in Odai near the pristine Miyagawa River, Gensaka Shuzo has brewed sake for over two centuries and revived the phantom rice variety Ise-nishiki in its own paddies. Its flagship brand Sakaya Hachibei is crafted mainly from locally grown Mie rice.
